There are incredible adventures available everyday in Jaco and all around Costa Rica

You can soar over the tree tops on one of the many different Canopy Tours. In the Jaco area alone, there are 4 canopy tours. There are many nature trails, butterfly farms, and frog farms that can be visited to look at the many exotic species.

There are also fantastic Catamaran Tours to Tortuga Island with inviting blue waters, warm white sands, green mountains, superb cuisine and excellent personal service at the very low costs of $100.

Only 15 minutes north of Jaco is Carara National park which is world renown for bird watching, you´ll be sure to spot Scarlet Macaws and tiger throated loons. Only an hour south is Manuel Antonio National Park where you´ll see white faced monkeys, howler monkeys, sloths and many other mammals of the jungle. Be sure to catch a crocodile tour while visiting the Tarcoles area.

Costa Rica is surrounded to some of the richest marine life waters in the world. Los Suenos Marina hosts world-Class Sport fishing contests where you can find marlin, candle fish, roosterfish, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, mahi-mahi, wahoo, jack, black tuna, mackerel, barracuda, snapper, sea bass, snook, grouper and more!

Additionally water taxis from Jaco to Montezuma are available where you will have the opportunity to see dolphins, whales, manta rays and other marine wildlife.

Surfing:

Costa Rica is world renowned for fantastic waves therefore creating the perfect surf environment.

There are surf tours available that bring you to different surf hot spots around the country and provide instruction when needed.

Furthermore private surf lessons are readily available for beginners as well as for experienced surfers.

Costa Rica was host to 2009´s World Billabong Surf Championship contest at Hermosa Beach which is the next beach south of Jaco.

Biking:

Costa Rica is fanatical about their biking.

Drive any days in the mornings anywhere in the country and you will see bikers training for road or mountain biking.

There are many competitions year long through out the country including the world famous "Los Conquistadores, La Ruta" which is considered the hardest mountain bike race in the world.

Equestrian Events:

Costa Rica´s National pastimes are rodeos and Topes (a traditional horse parade). Costa Rica is also the 2nd largest Spanish horse exporter in the world after Spain.

Costa Rica offers many western style activities like trail rides and rodeos but also offers English equestrian sports such as jumping, endurance riding, and dressage.

There are spectacular horses for sale as well. Trail rides along the beach and through the rainforest are a common and much loved activity in the many tourist areas.
